Cleaning & Care Instructions
PawLuna CleanStep is designed to make everyday litter box cleanup easier. The mat helps collect loose litter near the box, but regular care keeps it cleaner, fresher, and more useful in your daily routine.

How to Empty the Mat
Open the mat carefully and pour collected litter into the trash. Try to do this over a bin or easy-to-clean area so loose pieces do not fall back onto the floor.
If the litter is dry and reusable according to your own litter routine, you can decide whether to return clean loose litter to the box. If it looks dirty or damp, throw it away.
Daily Quick Cleaning
For everyday use, you do not need a complicated routine.
A simple daily care routine can include:
1. Pick up the mat carefully.
2. Open it over a trash bin.
3. Empty collected litter.
4. Shake gently.
5. Place it back in front of the litter box.
This helps keep the litter box area easier to manage.
How to Wipe the Mat
If the mat has dust, small particles, or light marks, wipe it with a damp cloth.
Use mild cleaning only when needed. Avoid strong chemicals near your cat’s litter area, especially anything with a heavy smell.
When to Rinse the Mat
Rinse the mat when wiping is not enough.
You may want to rinse it if:
the mat looks dusty,
litter dust has collected inside,
there is damp litter,
or the mat needs a deeper clean.
After rinsing, let the mat dry fully before placing it back near the litter box.
Drying Tips
Let the mat air dry completely.
Do not place a wet mat back near the litter box. A dry mat is easier to use, more comfortable for your cat, and better for keeping the area clean.
Mistakes to Avoid
Do not let collected litter build up for too long.
Do not use harsh chemicals near your cat’s paws.
Do not place the mat back while it is still wet.
Do not hide the mat away from your cat’s real walking path.
Do not assume the mat works best only because it is near the box. Placement matters.
How Often Should You Clean It?
For most homes, emptying the mat regularly is enough for daily use.
A deeper clean can be done weekly or when the mat looks like it needs it.
Homes with multiple cats may need more frequent cleaning because the litter box area gets used more often.
